Accomplishments

Under the aegis of the Trejo Foster Foundation, the following institutes have been held throughout the U.S.:

VIII Trejo Institute Conference Held at Simmons College, Boston, MA. November 5-6, 2010.

“Engaging and Serving Hispanic/Latino and Spanish-Speaking Communities: Best Practices, Challenges, and Strategies”

The VIII Trejo Institute continues the urgent dialogue on the existing and potential difficulties that libraries face in improving services to Spanish-speaking communities. With the contributions made by influential figures in the library profession and by conference participants, the Institute proved an invaluable opportunity to extend efforts to make libraries more democratic, accessible, and culturally-relevant spaces.
